WHEN TO USE THIS
- Send a PDF without the email attachment limit. Most inboxes cap attachments around 20-25MB. A PDF to URL link has no such ceiling, so contracts, portfolios, and scanned documents go through every time.
- Drop it straight into chat, Slack, or a CRM. A link pastes cleanly into a message thread, a support ticket, or a CRM note. No attaching and re-attaching the same file across five tools.
- Share a read-only copy without granting Drive access. Sending someone a Google Drive link often means managing sharing permissions. A PDF to URL link just opens, no login and no permission request on their end.
WHEN NOT TO USE THIS
If the PDF holds anything confidential, payroll, medical, legal, financial, don't use a public link. Anyone who has the URL can open it. For sensitive documents, use encrypted email or a password-protected file instead.
